European Commission approves proposal to ban the sale of diamonds from Russia

European Commission approved a proposal to ban the sale of diamonds from Russia and will send it to the EU member states for consideration. Ban on diamonds that are processed in third countries will be introduced in stages, from March to September 2024. Introducing ban requires the unanimous approval of all 27 EU member states.
