Angola has asked Alrosa to leave the Katoka diamond mine

Angola asked Alrosa to withdraw from the project to develop the Katoka diamond deposit, as sanctions against Russia have caused problems with the sale of minerals extracted there, local newspaper Expansao reported. According to the newspaper, representatives from Moscow and Luanda held a meeting in Dubai to try to unblock Alrosa's withdrawal. An obstacle is the Russian company's demand to receive monetary compensation for investments in the deposit.
