Samsung Electronics is in the final stages of negotiations to buy 5 million OLED TV displays from LG Display, The Verge reported, citing sources. If the deal goes through, it will be the first time Samsung will buy panels from its South Korean competitor and market leader. Today, LG Display supplies OLED panels to various TV manufacturers, including Sony, Vizio and Hisense, as well as LG Electronics. LG Display's OLED TV panel production capacity is expected to reach about 8 million units this year.
