PhosAgro has decided to postpone the start of construction of its ammonia-carbamide complex in Cherepovets. The decision was driven by the need to use foreign equipment at the complex and the suspension of negotiations with potential contractors for the project. The plant with a capacity of 1 million tons of ammonia and 1 million tons of urea a year and worth more than ₽100 billion was scheduled for commissioning in 2025. It was supposed to become one of the largest of its kind in the world.
