Irkut Corporation, a part of UAC, plans to buy six Sukhoi Super Jet 100 aircraft, which in 2016-2017 were leased for 12 years to Irish airline CityJet with a buyback guarantee for 40% of the value at the end of this term. CityJet abandoned the SSJ100s in 2019 due to maintenance issues and a shortage of spare parts. If the buyout takes place, the machines will be handed over to Russian airlines, which will be able to receive state subsidies from the program to support the leasing of Russian aircraft, approved in May 2020 by Russian President Vladimir Putin.
