Gazprom will use the excess Russian onshore gas transportation capacity of the Nord Stream 2 project to develop the gas supply to the regions of northwest Russia. However, if Germany decides to launch the pipeline, only one line with 100% load can be put into operation. The second offshore line of Nord Stream-2 may be put into operation not earlier than 2028.
